Our Mission Statement:
As Franciscan Poor Clare Sisters, our mission is to love and serve God unconditionally, to love all others as Jesus loves us and to be totally committed to following in Jesus’ footsteps, embracing with joy the awesome vows of poverty, chastity, obedience and enclosure.

History of Our Founding
The founding Sisters were Sr. Antoinette from our Monastery in Evansville, Indiana; Sr. Gabriel from Omaha, Nebraska and from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sr. Clare came for six months. They had been in correspondence and working toward the establishment of this Monastery for over a year. A unique characteristic of our community is the desire to be a small Poor Clare presence among the poor of the city. Our Monastery is located in what is called ‘Old Victoria’; our neighbors are multi-cultural. Our prayer presence in this area is a quiet witness to God’s provident care for all His people.
